FAQ
Magnetic field therapy acts on the electrical fields around the joints. It promotes metabolism and blood circulation. This therapy can be particularly helpful for osteoarthritis – without surgery.
The health insurance fund covers the costs for:
- Chronic lower back pain
- Osteoarthritis of the knee
Prerequisite: The pain has been present for at least 6 months and is documented by a doctor.
Hyaluronic acid is injected into the joint. There it protects the cartilage and improves mobility. It absorbs shocks and inhibits substances that damage cartilage. It also improves the synovial fluid.
Shock wave therapy involves applying a targeted pulse to the painful area. This can be used to treat conditions such as shoulder, elbow, heel and Achilles tendon pain, or poorly healing fractures. It is also used to treat back pain and piriformis syndrome. The therapy is well tolerated and has no side effects.
IGEL stands for individual health services. These beneficial therapies are often not covered by health insurance. You pay for them yourself. They include, for example:
- Shock wave therapy
- Extension treatment
- Magnetic field therapy
- Hyaluronic acid treatment
- Acupuncture
